Be In The Picture 2

Joining in with Kerry of Kerry Louise Norris and Alana of Baby Holiday in their Be in the Picture community in which they encourage us to get in front of the camera instead of always being behind it. I’m guilty of this and by joining in with Be in the Picture, it ensures BattleKid will have pictures of me as well of himself when he grows up.

This month we’ve been packing things in and it was only when I went through my pictures for this post that I realised just how busy we’ve been. At the start of the month we did a cake smash photo shoot for BattleKid’s third birthday, albeit a month late. Better late than never. The first picture is probably cheating a bit but I liked the framing BattleDad got while taking this picture. After I’d done my thing I joined BattleKid for some cake, the non smashed, non foot-in-the-cake pieces. See my Living Arrows 6 post and you’ll understand the reference.

In the middle of the month I took a Friday off, and after running errands in the morning, I got BattleKid early from nursery and we went dragon hunting at Raglan Castle, not far from us. He napped on the way and I had to wait in the car while he was catching flies until he decided to wake up!be in the picture 2

Once he did we had a lovely time in the castle, found a dragon and got a selfie together. Selfie’s are the way forward when you’re out on your own with your kids. This is another reason why I love my Canon G7X camera. The flip screen is brilliant for selfies.

The day after that it was another dragon hunting expedition to Cardiff Castle, this time with BattleDad. We had a lovely day and BattleKid had fun throwing the dragon he found into the air. Being in mum’s arms didn’t stop him!

This weekend just gone, BattleKid and I joined a friend and her children at Cefn Mably Farm Park and we had a lovely time before the rain set in. Thankfully we were just done outside when this happened. And Amen to bringing a change of clothes so the boys could enjoy soft play, leaving us mums to enjoy hot cups of tea/coffee. Another selfie moment with my boy in the rain, but we were happy!be in the picture 2

It’s only this month, now I’ve done the round up of my Be in the Picture snaps, that I really see the benefit of this linky and community with Kerry and Alana. It’s definitely one I plan to continue to join in with every month. It’s also a brilliant way to ensure there are photos of me among those of the boy alone or with BattleDad. Memories in the making!

Why not join in yourself, via a blog post or the Instagram community using the #beinthepicture.

    1. We set it up ourselves Katie. We bring one of his dragon teddy bears, hide him in a cave (hole) and let him hunt it. Makes castles so much more interesting x

  1. Check you out with so many pics this month! I’m so pleased you’re enjoying the linky – it definitely reminds me to get in front of the camera now and again. Thank you for joining in xx
