					<description><![CDATA[I have gone to the Oregon Zoo quite a bit since I was young, but oddly enough I never saw any meerkats you mentioned? If it was in the Predators area, with a spot where you could go into a dome via crawling, I believe those are Mongoose. They look a bit similar, and I often mix them up. On a much more fun note, I noticed that the Zoo is getting Red Pandas and more Tigers this Spring, so I recommend going again if you like those. Polar Passage is, of course, still under construction until 2020, along with Rhinos and Primates.]]></description>

While it is sad to see wild animals in zoos, for many it&#039;s necessary to keep the species alive. I think they&#039;re a great place to teach our children about respecting animals and about conservation. I&#039;ve always loved zoos and will continue to bring my son to them.]]></description>
