Lapland
Everything you will ever need to know about visiting Lapland with kids
I think it is every parent’s dream to take their kids to see Father Christmas in Lapland. And we ticked it off our bucket list in December 2018 when we went to visit Santa in Lapland. It was a magical trip, made even better as we did not go for one of the Lapland holiday packages, instead opting to go to Lapland DIY. And in doing so we created the Lapland holiday of our dreams for a fraction of the price.
Our trip to Finnish Lapland was amazing and included a husky safari, wintery family photoshoot, reindeer sleigh rides, Elf School and a visit to see the big man himself in his official hometown of Rovaniemi.
I did a lot of research before we went and created an amazing Lapland bucket list which we ticked most things off, made sure we had the right clothing on our Lapland packing list and also had some amazing experiences booked before we arrived.
I’ve written many posts about our research and planning for Lapland and then written several posts about our trip to Lapland with kids. I’ve also written a post about why you should visit Lapland if you happen to be on the fence about whether Lapland is for kids or not (big or small).
If you are thinking of booking a Lapland holiday, whether it is a package or booking Lapland yourself, let these posts be your guide to planning a magical trip to visit Santa in Lapland with kids.
We spent 5-nights in Rovaniemi, Finland, and 3-nights in Helsinki during which time we visited Tallinn, Estonia for a day. These posts all detail parts of the overall trip, and include reviews and hints and tips to make visiting Lapland as a family easy.
Below you will find all the Lapland posts you will ever need to plan the trip of a lifetime. Click on the image to read the blog post.
